Washington, D.C. (September 9, 2025) – The Alliance to Save America's 340B Program (ASAP 340B) today commends the Congressional Budget Office’s latest report, which outlines recent trends in the 340B Drug Pricing Program. The report highlights both the factors driving the program’s recent growth and its estimated impact on the federal budget and patients.
“These findings validate our partners’ longstanding concerns about the program: while the program has grown substantially over the past few decades, a lack of adequate accountability and transparency continues to prevent its benefits from fully reaching the underserved communities it was designed to support,” said Thomas Johnson, Executive Director of ASAP 340B.
“We urge policymakers on both sides of the aisle to advance policy solutions that ensure the 340B program works as Congress originally intended – to help true safety-net providers, like Community Health Centers who are model stewards of the program, deliver more affordable medicines and healthcare services to the millions of Americans who depend on them for essential healthcare. The ambiguity of the status quo is unacceptable. The stakes are too high, and the consequences of inaction too significant, to delay meaningful reform any longer.”
