Washington, D.C. (June 29, 2026) - The Alliance to Save America’s 340B Program (ASAP 340B) commends Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee Chairman Bill Cassidy, M.D., for his continued leadership and commitment to examining the 340B Drug Pricing Program. The discussion draft released this week builds on the Chairman’s years-long effort to better understand how the program operates today and reflects the growing bipartisan recognition that meaningful 340B reform is needed to ensure the program fulfills its original mission of supporting safety-net providers and the patients they serve.
“We commend Chairman Cassidy for his ongoing work to evaluate the 340B program and advance the conversation around thoughtful, patient-centered reform,” said Thomas Johnson, Executive Director of ASAP 340B. “His continued focus on transparency, accountability, and clarity, will ensure that 340B benefits reach the patients and communities the program was intended to serve, and reflects the importance of addressing longstanding concerns within the program. We appreciate his leadership and look forward to reviewing the discussion draft and engaging constructively in the process.”
ASAP 340B looks forward to working with Chairman Cassidy, members of Congress, and stakeholders across the healthcare community to advance thoughtful policy solutions that strengthen the integrity of the 340B program and ensure it works as Congress intended: to help make medicines and healthcare services more affordable and accessible for low income and underserved patients.
